The pond was constructed in 1994 and now looks as though it has always been there.
In the spring and autumn, the acers give a lot of colour.

The spring is heralded in by Caltha palustris around the pond and in June the lovely lily-like flowers of the Zantedeschia aethiopica in their full glory can be seen.
During the summer months the irises: Iris kaemferi, Iris pseudoacorus and Iris versicolor are in flower
Syringa microphylla Suberba gives a powerful perfume around the pond in May and the reflections in the water, with the goldfish and the astilbes, are also lovely.
