Our garden lies in the middle of the woodland in Hoevelaken, near Amersfoort, on the boundary between Gelderland and Utrecht.

This is a private garden and casual visitors run the real risk of confronting a closed gate if they do not make a prior appointment. Moreover, we need to let you know exactly how to find us as we are not on a public road and even car navigators fail!

 

The gardens are ideal for group visits and we have had several over the years. In fact, comments after these visits are largely responsible for our decision to share our hobby with other keen gardeners and plant lovers. An area has now been set up where visitors can sit undercover, enjoy tea/coffee and get information about the garden and on plants of special interest.

 

Visits invariably take 2-3 hours in total. The majority of plants, especially the unusual ones, are clearly labelled, so that visitors may wander around at their own pace.

 

Guided tours can also be given and at least one of us aims to be present during these visits.

 

We request a contribution of  6 Euros p.p. which includes coffee or tea and cake.

If you have enjoyed a visit to our garden during the spring, summer or autumn, perhaps your club would like a presentation during the winter months about our garden. We have prepared a powerpoint presentation, full of beautiful photographs taken in our garden and describing:

• a tour and history of the garden
• foliage contrasts and how to create colour without flowers
• flowers for all seasons, particularly concentrating on winter, early spring and autumn flowers
• exotic plants.

The presentation includes over one hundred photographs and either John or Joyce will talk you through them, giving descriptions of the plants, design and history of our garden.

Travel costs and a small contribution will be requested.
