Photo taken on 1.09.2005 in the tropical border. This is a member of the Zingiberaceae family (ginger) and is called "Tibetan ginger." Although it is growing in our troical border, it likes shade and is actually growing underneath the Aralia elata "variegata". However, the flowers do tend to flop.
