Photo taken in "tropical" border on 19.7.2006. One of the most beautiful leaved plants there is. It can be grown in the garden, providing it is given some protection in winter, or is in a sheltered spot. The new shoots come from the roots each year and grow to up to 1 meter high. It comes originally from South Africa, but we collected our first seed from beside a road in New Zealand.
