PHoto taken on 5.8.2005 near to the pond. This shrub can reach up to 2 meters tall. It is a native of South America, including the Straits of Magellan - hence the name. It is semi- deciduous if the winters are not too hard and has a long flowering season from mid spring to the first frosts.
