Here we see a small formal rose garden with each bed surrounded by the traditional box hedge. The roses in the beds are:
  • Rosa "Bonica"
  • Rosa “Wife of Bath”,
  • Rosa "Coppelia",
  • Rosa "Romance", 
  • Rosa “Queen Elizabeth” 
  • Rosa "New Dawn".
Elsewhere in the garden
  • Rosa "Zepherin Drouhin" 
  • Rosa “Pernille Pousen” 
  • Rosa "Teeny Weeny", with its tiny flowers which flowers continuously from June through September
  • The freely blooming orange Rosa "Westerland" can also be found.

The winterhard Trachycarpus fortunei (Chusan palm) can also be seen in the rose garden. This photo was taken in 2004, but it has now almost reached the height of the first floor balcony.
