Photo taken on 23rd May on the "beech-arch path" in the wood and in the Millennium garden. Syn Phyllitis scolopendium. The common name is Hart's Tongue fern and as its name suggests it has strap like leaves.. Plants prefer shade and lime, so our plants on acid soil are not as luxuriant as they could be although we can give them plenty of shade. The leaf edge is deeply serrated and it grows to 50cm high.
